Somatomancy Launches on Playing Card Tarot

Fourteen body-reading traditions arrive on Playing Card Tarot. Upload a photo of your palm, face, or eye and let the cards listen to what your body has to say.

Read your body as well as your cards

Playing Card Tarot has always been about reflective divination: a familiar 52-card deck, the Celtic Cross, and now AI-augmented analysis. With today's release, the deck listens to your body as well. Somatomancy brings fourteen body-reading traditions to the site, each powered by AI vision and rooted in centuries of folklore.

Upload a photo of your palm, your face, the iris of an eye (even the lines on your forehead), and the system reads what it sees, then draws the cards. The reading that comes back is reflective, poetic, and entirely yours.

Fourteen traditions, one engine

Each tradition carries its own lore, its own prompt, its own card art. From the well-trodden (palmistry, physiognomy) to the deliciously niche (omphalomancy, podomancy), every type is its own little world:

Built around your privacy

Photos are EXIF-stripped on upload, stored on disk owner-gated, and never shared. Only you can see your own readings, not other members, not the public web. Readings are explicitly reflective: no medical, dermatological, or character claims.

Sensitive traditions are guarded carefully. Phrenology is framed as poetic metaphor, never as science. Moleosophy explicitly rejects medical and dermatological claims. Omphalomancy will only accept appropriately framed photos. Anything below the belt-line is auto-rejected by a pre-screen pass before the reading ever runs.

Original gothic-skeleton card art

Each tradition got its own card: fourteen new pieces of original art, generated in our signature gothic-skeleton style and matched to the lore of the tradition. They sit alongside the existing royal court at playingcardtarot.app/somatomancy, where you can pick a tradition and try a reading.
